JUDGING PROCESS

The Track Leaders and Advisers assessed all papers accepted for presentation at the Conference, selected the best three papers in their Track and nominated one as “Best in Track”. These reflect the general criteria specified as appropriate to the topic. (Click here for detailed criteria.)

These three papers have been reviewed and the “Best” has been confirmed by the Track Sponsor’s Representative.

In addition, the Track Leaders considered nominating these three and any other papers for the five Special Awards sponsored by Scottish Enterprise. A paper could receive only one Special Award (plus ‘Best in Track’ Award if appropriate).

Track Leaders could not nominate their own papers for either the Best in Track or the Special Awards, but they could nominate papers by other Track Leaders, which were considered by the independent Judging Panel.

JUDGING PANEL

The judging panel for the Special Awards will comprise:

• ISBE Vice-President & 2005 Conference Chair: Professor Bob Ritchie, UCLAN (Chair)

• Conference Co-Vice-Chair Academic Programme: Prof Colin Mason, University of Strathclyde

• Conference Co-Vice-Chair Academic Programme: Prof Sara Carter, University of Strathclyde

• ISBE Vice-President & 2006 Conference Chair: Prof David Brooksbank, University of Glamorgan

• ISBE Past-President & 2008 Conference Chair: Prof Ken O’Neill, University of Ulster

• Main Sponsor: Brian McVey, Director of Policy, Growing Business, Scottish Enterprise
